Nightcore → Fake Love ✗ Love Lies ✗ High Hopes \u0026 MORE! (Switching Vocals/Mashup) - Lyrics

It is full of surprises. Luke Galloway helped Sam Paris develop his Kentucky farm into a viable operation. They raised, raced, sold, and studded Kentucky race horses.

From an almost penniless man, Sam is now well-off as is his partner Luke. Luke has a prison record from his youth.

When he got out, Luke was determined to make good and he did. Slowly letters between the two of them stopped and Rusty grew up without her father.

When Rusty hears Sam is dying, she wastes no time throwing clothes together to travel to Kentucky with Luke. She finds Luke overbearing and arrogant which is not a good start.

Luke asks Sam to reconsider his lie; but Sam is determined not to run Rusty off. Meanwhile, Luke has to keep his mouth shut on the lie. He will not give in to the idea that he likes Rusty and she likes him.

Sam puts another temptation in the way. He wants Rusty to marry and have children so he can be a doting grandfather as long as he can. Rusty sets out to find a man to marry and give her a child.

Can she find one with Luke making comments all the time? Will she find out Sam is lying? What will happen then? Two stars that died to one star.

She wouldn't have left him and gotten into a car accident and had a miscarriage. She "knew" he loved her? What a crock full of bullshit.

May 09, Eva rated it liked it Shelves: ebooks , romance. And only for the story line. Love the story and the whole idea of it. But, there's always but Rusty and Luke.

Oh my, they were so annoying and childish. Like two teenagers. C'mon they were supposed to be adults, right? Apart from that I enjoyed this book.

Nov 21, Sue Parker rated it liked it. I expected more from this book. I liked the story but the constant I love her but she doesn't love me and so on just made me want to slap both Luke and Rusty upside the head.

I mean come on you spend 7 months living together after being married and barely speaking to each other?

The ending was ok but it just seamed like the wrap up was rushed out in two pages. Nov 21, Liz Bernheisel rated it liked it. I only read this book because it was free.

This book is pretty much all about sex! Luke and Rusty have zero communication on how they feel and it was so frustrating!

I also didn't like the ending. The author should have had both characters express their love more deeper than just saying "I love you".

So frustrating! These characters could not communicate. And they were supposed to do it all right and have a lovely wedding and extend the ranch and put money away for the babies.

Not donate it all and never actually clear the air. What was that ending about. Dec 03, Detroitangel rated it liked it. Not too horrible Predictable and hackneyed plot about two people who can't keep their hands off each other but who also have no communication skills.

Aug 06, Chelsea Nicole rated it it was ok. This had to be just about the worst book I've read all year. Not only was the pacing horrible, but so was the plot and the writing itself.

I couldn't empathize or connect with not one character. Rusty is an heiress to her late mothers money that she acquired by a series of marriages and divorces.

Yes, it starts off as a mess and certainly does not stop once to relieve you of the nonsense you just read. Despite her unstable and fatherless childhood, she grows up to be a half decent, albeit annoyi This had to be just about the worst book I've read all year.

Despite her unstable and fatherless childhood, she grows up to be a half decent, albeit annoying adult. She's so naive and gullible which Luke takes and runs with.

Luke is easily on of the most obnoxious characters in this one. He comes off crude for no reason. All he thinks about is getting Rusty in bed.

I'm not even sure how they end up together again and again. They never show understanding or communicate properly. Its just a look book full of lustful thoughts, grunts and Luke trying to express his "manliness".

I found him to be abusive and invasive. Not to mention I'm pretty sure ejaculating in someone without their consent or knowledge is considered rape.

Oct 17, Karin rated it liked it. This book is exactly what the title claims it to be. In the sense that the reader meets couples who are struggling with it, or rather than struggling with it, struggling with expressing their emotions.

In the sense of constant miscommunication, little white lies blossoming into bigger ones, and strain placed on relationships because of it.

High heels. In the sense of a wealthy heiress, who apparently refused to wear much of any other footwear.

It comes with nsfw romance and plenty of This book is exactly what the title claims it to be. It comes with nsfw romance and plenty of "beating around the bush", no innuendo intended.

I feel that Rusty, as a character fell a little flat, and Luke could have used some time to man up and say what he meant rather than sulking about but then again, I am not usually that fond of romance books to begin with.

Somehow, they always come with those sullen characters. Would I read the sequel? If it fell in my hands the way this book did.

Would it be an alright book for any person who loves romance books? It does come with a happy ending which seems way too far away.

Sep 01, Becki rated it liked it. I wanted to LOVE this book so bad but just found it to be somewhat ok. Her inner dialogue felt like a 12 year old spoiled brat with insecurity issues.

Which considering she was obscenely wealthy and shipped off to boarding schools could be why the author wrote her that way. They lacked major communication and made themselves miserable because of it.

I did like the premise of the book, that it was a So I did like the premise of the book, that it was a love story with instant attraction but not instant love, and that it had a happy ending.

I chose to read and review this I must say it was a surprise for me in certain chapters but I felt that the book was not what it was meant to be I mean it could have been better written better characters add or remove some who aren't even needed in some places the main characters was someone I wanted to punch in the face she could have made improvement but still was ok.

I would have happily paid for it. It's well written, has great characters, is romantic and a bit saucy and is laugh-out-out loud funny. Both of the main characters, Rusty and Luke are strong, feisty and very likeable.

Well worth reading. Like the reviewer before I was surprised this was a freebie and would of happily paid for the download.

Its a good read. Luke and Rusty are strong leads and their firey relationship is really well written. They are believeable and even though the end is predictable in a way the route they get there is bumpy.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and read the book in one sitting. Will look out for more by this author! It has been quite an entertaining read.

When we meet Rusty, she comes across as a typical spoilt rich kid, who has everything, but has never had to work a day in her life for it.

She's not unlikeable though and has inherited her fortune from her mother, who has sadly died. She hasn't had a relationship with her father since she was a little girl.

Her father, Sam, has always regretted this and has decided it's time they tried to form some sort of relationship.

Out of fear of rejection, he sends his best friend and colleague, Luke, to Rusty with a lie. He is to tell her that Sam is dying and wishes to see her before it's too late.

He doesn't think she'll see him otherwise. Rusty rushes to be at her father's side, regretting the time they've wasted too. To some this might seem a bit unbelievable, but I think many people soon put the past behind them when they think time is running out to make amends.

I think we're all guilty, sometimes, of assuming we'll have our family and loved ones forever! Anyway, it's quite clear from the start that Rusty and Luke fancy the pants off each other, although they act as though they can't stand the sight of each other!

They're like a pair of moody teenagers who can't admit their obvious attraction to themselves, let alone one another.

I seriously wanted to bang their heads together on more than one occasion, although I did find them quite amusing at times also!

Luke had been hurt in the past though and Rusty has never had a man make her feel the way Luke does, and it unsettles her.

Their relationship is a prime example of two people not communicating properly and also how you shouldn't eavesdrop on someone else's conversation and jump to all the wrong conclusions!

I'm a true believer in love at first sight and it was obvious from the start that Rusty and Luke were made for each other.

Thankfully they get their act together eventually, but not before some heart-break along the way. I definitely recommend this book if you like a love story, which gets a bit raunchy at times, but isn't always plain sailing, with likeable characters, who might drive you a bit crazy at times.

There is a happy ending also, and who doesn't like a happy ending? I have already added book 2 to my TBR list. Report abuse. Lovely romantic tale of two star-crossed lovers.

Luke has no room in his life for rich heiresses. Been there. Done that. From the first time Luke and Rusty meet, they clash. She considers him nothing more than a lowly ranch hand who enjoys riling her temper.

Don't honestly know how I want to rate this book. I'm so frustrated with it I just can't right now or it would be bad I think. There was a stunning lack of communication in this book between the main characters.

I don't mind that in small quantities but over and over and over through the whole book. I mean, if they would have sat down and had one actual meaningful conversation they could have cleared up a lot of misunderstandings Rusty was terrible at this.

Constantly making things worse because no one talked to one another! View 1 comment. Nov 18, Jayne rated it liked it. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.

To view it, click here. The premise is something I've seen before, but the characters were pretty interesting Rusty is a year-old woman, but she strikes me more as a year-old girl.

And Luke, when he gets into his jealous rages, also comes across more like a teenage boy with the way he tries to "sabotage" her dating attempts.

That being said, I suppose it stands to reason that their conflict and misunderstanding towards the end of the book seem a bit overly dramatic. Also, 2.

Also, the resolution was a bit too easy. Where was the big talk? Did they even really resolve the issues? But of course, I am a sucker for happily-ever-afters, so the epilogue made me happy.

Overall, an okay, light read. Nov 27, Clarisse rated it did not like it Shelves: kindle. While there were parts of the book I did enjoy, generally, I didn't like it.

I especially didn't like the second half. I just found it really annoying and frustrating that the characters Luke and Rusty just kept assuming the other felt a certain way about the relationship, and then acting so drastically on it.

I just personally found myself annoyed most of the second half of the book, when all of their problems could have been fixed if only they stopped assuming things and started communicating.

I While there were parts of the book I did enjoy, generally, I didn't like it. I mean you can't expect relationships to be perfect. A book without conflict would be boring.

At the same time though, I feel like the same thing was just happening over and over again, and it got really irritating really quickly.

Really cute story with adorable characters. I enjoyed the plot -- even though it wasn't very original.

I just always enjoy when the cowboy wins the city girl! View all 3 comments. Nov 06, Catalina rated it it was amazing. For a book that was free, it was definitely worth it!

I didn't really come in with high expectations because I am not so much into the whole cowboy thing. This was my first cowboy book and damn was it good!

The few sex scenes weren't super steamy or anything BUT the sexual tension and foreplay buildup was so hot. I think for me, personally, that's the best part.

I am ALL about the sexual tension. I guess I just enjoy the anticipation. I also loved the characters. Sam was so adorable, Rusty and Luke were just plain HOT, and everyone else was just so warm and easygoing.

Smith was the best with her tell it like it is attitude. Overall, totally recommend this book. View all 4 comments.

Rusty hasn't seen her dad since she was a little kid, so when she hears that he's dying, she packs up to go be with him for as long as he has left.

But she's a spoiled fish out of water, with designer duds and spiked heels that have no place on a working ranch, and her father's partner and ranch hand Luke won't let her forget it.

Okay, so I can't say I like the idea of a parent faking terminal illness to get his adult child's attention, but many books I've loved have started off even crazier than Rusty hasn't seen her dad since she was a little kid, so when she hears that he's dying, she packs up to go be with him for as long as he has left.

Okay, so I can't say I like the idea of a parent faking terminal illness to get his adult child's attention, but many books I've loved have started off even crazier than that, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

The story hooked me right away. From the awkward confrontation with Rusty's stalker-y ex to Luke's admission that he'd done prison time, it was gearing up to be an awesome case of opposites attract.

But the more I turned the pages, the more irritated I got with both of them. First, I didn't like the way Luke was so judgmental of Rusty.

One look at her designer shoes and manicured nails, and he decided she was a spoiled rotten princess who didn't deserve any of his respect, much less affection.

I could understand the first impression, and who among us doesn't make the wrong call about people sometimes?

But he was mean about, and that didn't sit so well with me. What started out as cute, like forgetting her coat because the winters she was used to were the mild Florida ones, went a bit too far as the book went on.

Early on, she assumed the hotel they'd be stuck in would be the kind of place with lobster and a masseuse, and while I understood her being used to those things, I thought she'd be smarter than to assume the only available room in a snow storm would be something in the five-star range.

But what really got me was her immediate determination to get herself knocked up because her father wanted grandchildren. In fact, her dad's scheming seemed more like some kind of slapstick thing from a sitcom than a somewhat believable story plot, and Rusty's acceptance without question had me quickly doubting her intelligence.

Why didn't she immediately Google the made-up disease he claimed to be dying from? Why didn't she know that a small town grocery store probably wouldn't have the high-end gourmet foods she was used to?

Why didn't she try to work out why her father had abandoned her as a child before deciding making a baby with some random guy was a good idea?

Oct 08, bokskiee rated it really liked it. Honestly, I downloaded this ebook from iTunes since it's free and out of curiosity.

Turns out that it deserves a good review. Set in the rural areas of Kentucky, heiress Rusty Paris is forced to come home by a certain Luke Galloway, a man sent by her father to tell her about his dying condition.

Little did she know her father Sam, made it all up and just wants to spend time with her and wants to know if she still cares for him despite the years of being distant.

Luke, who's actually Sam's business Honestly, I downloaded this ebook from iTunes since it's free and out of curiosity.

Luke, who's actually Sam's business partner in the horse farm and whom he considers his son, doesn't want anything to do with Rusty and neither does she.

But you can't tell your heart what and not to do when things get a little bit tangled. So basically that's the gist of the story and I find the hero and heroine adorable and charming.

Both are stubborn and their chemistry is undeniable. I actually found this story cute and romantic, and enjoyed it as one of my late-night reads.

Jan 05, Kathleen rated it it was ok. I liked the main characters, Luke and Rusty, and I enjoyed the setting of the ranch in Kentucky as well as some of the story line.

What drove me crazy was the "junior high-like" communication behavior of Luke and Rusty. The story was pretty predictable but it took forever to get to the happy ending.

In fact, it didn't happen until the last two or three pages and that was after having to read through their missed opportunities over and over again.

Since this was a free ebook, I gave the author the benefit of reading the entire book but, honestly I could have skipped several chapters and still gotten the gist of the story.

If you like light romantic novels, you may enjoy this but be prepared for some frustration!! Oct 20, Joanna Grace rated it liked it.

I felt emotionally attached to Luke early on She eventually grew on me and then with all of the non-communicated misunderstandings between them, I was frustrated.

One would think with that kind of frustration, I'd be eager for this story to end. However, I felt like the ending was rushed.

I found myself upset because it ended. Strange, I know. I give this book a solid I was honestly enjoying this book until the ending.
